I have no problems with Weinstein; he is well qualified from what I
have
read and heard about him.

Regarding Carlin, he was a professional politician and had been a
Governor before
being appointed as Archivist.  He is resigning.  Whatever motivated him
to resign
is his business; but the fact is that he tendered his resignation.

I'm not sure how many of you have been watching the President's
nomination of
a replacement Archivist of the US. There was some discussion about a
year ago
but nothing on Monday's Washington Post editorial, apart from Peter
K's
raindrop and one other posting.
