Hi -

The CGOC recently had a webcast on "The Intersection of Information
Privacy Rules and Retention Rules" with Lisa Sotto, partner at Hunton &
Williams, LLP. Lisa covered the privacy issues including the new
California law in great detail.

Here is a link to replay the webcast -- it may be a good resource for
you.

And anyone managing an ARMA Chapter website is encouraged to comply with
this as well... because ARMA is a not-for-profit and not all chapter are
incorporated, you want to ensure your privacy policy is CLEARLY stated,
especially if you ask for personal information and/or use any e-commerce
links from you site and there is the potential for ANYONE doing business
with someone or a company that is based in California.

Your business doesn't have to reside in California to be impacted by
this, you simply have to be conducting business with any individual or
entity that is based in California.
