The California Secretary of State's office is seeking an individual to serve as the agency's Records Manager. This permanent, full-time position is located in downtown Sacramento. The position is responsible for all records management policies and practices within the agency, including development and review of records retention schedules, staff training, review and approval of filing, micrographics and optical disk equipment, providing general information to local governments, contacts with State Records Center to facilitate record transfers, destruction requests, billings and related procedures, and oversight of automated records management system.
Familiarity with Microsoft applications, records management principles and practices, and organization of state and local government is desirable. Applicants must be currently eligible for appointment to the AGPA (Associate Governmental Program Analyst) class within California state government.
