We are using the Fujitsu 4750 which is a lower model but are very happy with both Fujitsu and Kofax VRS. It takes some work to get the adjustments figured out for maximum effectiveness with VRS. Also it is very important the order you install the drivers for kofax, vrs, and fujitsu. The maintenance support from Fujitsu has been excellent. I would suggest you have your vendor demo the scanners you will be considering. Put them through some paces for a few weeks.

Subject: Looking for mid-volume scanner with flatbed capability

Looked at the archives - but no actual opinions on these machines.

This will be a centralized production scanner for the company. The scanner be able to scan just about anything out there. We'll be scanning vouchers, invoices, easements, and contracts for starters.

Anyone have any experience with these specific scanners ~ Panasonic-S7065C, Canon 7080C, and the Fujitsui 5750C with Kofax's VRS installed? Reliability or maintenance issues (shipping to mfg), ease of installation, any pluses or minuses you can provide is appreciated. No vendors please.

What about VRS - Is VRS overrated? Does it really save on time, reduce size and improve quality of images?

I have ruled out B & H and Kodak. Sales Rep showed no mid-volume scanner for B&H. Kodak's scanners had to attach the flatbed piece.

Any thoughts or comments?

Thanks in advance.

Bob
