*Archives & Records Specialist 1*

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab), a leader in
science and engineering research for more than 70 years, is currently
seeking an Archives & Records Specialist 1. This is a full-time,
entry-level archivist position to support official LBNL records
accessioning and retrieval to and from the National Archives and Records
Administration repository. Using a high degree of discretion, the
successful candidate will be relied on to assist with individual
customers and departments in the application of established records
management policies and procedures. Key functions will include
inventorying, arranging, describing, appraising, scheduling,
transferring, accessioning and ensuring future access to all temporary
and permanent Laboratory records. This position assists with Facilities
Division drawings document management support, in addition to taking
responsibility for data entry, search and retrieval, packaging, copying,
storage, preparation for shipping, and communications with users and ARO
staff related to records inventories, such as accessioning new records,
inactive records inventories, audits, litigation support, Freedom of
Information requests, and Department of Energy (DOE) requests. Other
duties may also include assisting in the analysis and development of the
Archives and Records Office's automated integrated information system.

Requirements:

    .    Master's degree with relevant graduate work in Archival and
    Records Management studies (or equivalent experience).
    .    Basic training and experience in archives and records
    management, preferably with federal records.
    .    Basic familiarity with the administration of records retention
    schedules.
    .    Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational,
    research, desktop computer and data entry skills.
    .    Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
    .    Database management skills and courses in computing are preferred.
    .    Ability to work cooperatively, flexibly and independently.
    .    Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.

*Archives & Records Specialist 2*

(career) part time (50%) appointment. The selected candidate will
support accessioning and retrieval of official records to and from the
National Archives and Records Administration repository. Using a high
degree of discretion, the successful candidate will be relied on to
consult with individual customers and departments in the application of
established records management policies and procedures. Key functions
will include inventorying, arranging, describing, appraising,
scheduling, transferring, accessioning and ensuring future access to all
temporary and permanent Laboratory records. This position will also be
relied on to assist in the planning and execution of major projects,
such as inactive records inventories, audits, Laboratory litigation
support, Freedom of Information requests, and Department of Energy (DOE)
requests. Other duties may also include assisting in the analysis and
development of the Archives and Records Office's automated integrated
information system.

Requirements:

    .    Master's degree with relevant graduate work in Archival and
    Records Management studies or equivalent experience.
    .    3+ years training and experience in archives and records
    management, preferably with federal records.
    .    Strong familiarity with the administration of records retention
    schedules.
    .    Excellent organizational, research and planning skills.
    .    Strong analytical, interpersonal and verbal/written
    communication skills.
    .    Ability to work cooperatively, flexibly and independently.
    .    Experience with databases and database entry, preferably
    Microsoft Access.
    .    Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
    .    Skills in database management are preferred.
