ASRC Aerospace Corp. has an immediate opening for a Records Information Manager, supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Records Management Program in Washington, DC.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Records Information Manager (RIM) acts as a subject matter expert for the file plan module of an innovative records management training program. The RIM maintains and refines the File Plan Survey, an alternative to traditional records inventories for identifying schedules that apply to an office's records. The RIM writes procedural and technical documents on a broad range of records management topics. The RIM visits offices to provide targeted records management briefings and consultation. The RIM provides technical assistance, responding to telephone, email, and walk-in requests. The RIM maintains the internal file plan, which serves as a test bed and model for other offices.
Knowledge and Skills
The RIM must possess a deep understanding of records management principles and practices, especially the creation, implementation, and maintenance of file plans. Experience preparing training materials and conducting training sessions is a plus. Certified Records Manager (CRM) preferred.
Education and Work Experience
The RIM must have either a master's degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years experience in records management, or a bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years experience in records management.
