Kirk,
Ah Kirk, Kirk where have you been? You should know by now that American
companies are mostly virtual. When you call your bank or credit card
company you usually wind up talking to someone in India or Pakistan. In
other words the work is outsourced to the lowest bidder. Same with your
cable or satellite service provider. All they provide is the feed;
installation and service is outsourced to the lowest bidder. Now just
who that is or was is a problem. You might have that information from
the original installation but of course the company actually doing the
service work may have changed one or more times. The service records
would be with the outsourced contractor(s) if you could find them. The
Dish people are just brokers for the service. So your problem is
multiplied. Any complaint has to somehow make it from the virtual
service provider to the outsourced contractor for service. That company
(if it actually gets the complaint) has no compunction to respond
because you don't even know (usually) who it is. Like boxing fog. So
the records are probably there but you don't know where there is and
Dish will probably not tell you. Abandon hope or change service
providers. Vote with your dollars. Oh that's right, probably have a
contract don't that has big opt out charges. See abandon hope above.
