FW: Certification process for ISO 15489
Hello Rick
I rang Standards Australia ( _http://www.standards.org.au/default.asp_
(http://www.standards.org.au/default.asp) )
and was told that there is not a specific certification/program for ISO
- 15489. They suggested that you could get a records management system
certified under ISO - 9001:2000
(_http://www.standards.com.au/catalogue/Script/Details.asp?DocN3DAS0930439_
(http://www.standards.com.au/catalogue/Script/Details.asp?DocN=3DAS0930439=)
04986), which is the standard for quality management systems. This
certification could incorporate in the requirements of ISO - 15489. Hope
this helps
Cheers

Subject: ISO 15489 certification process
Hi all,
I thought I remembered something on the list about a country, archive, or
organization that was working on a formal certification process for ISO
15489. I searched through the archives and couldn't find anything...
Google shows that the National Standards Authority of Ireland seems to be
doing *something* in this regard:
"The Minister for Trade & Commerce, Mr Michael Ahern T.D., has presented
Filestores, the Document Storage & Data Management Company with ISO 15489 at
the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment. Filestores, who is also a
part of DMG Services, is the first record management company in Ireland and
one of the few in Europe to have received this ISO standard."

Can anyone shed some light, either on the NSAI certification or more
generally on other efforts?
Thanks,
