I am implementing SharePoint 2003 with Office 2003 as part of our IM strategy. To address the Records Management needs for SharePoint 2003 we are using Meridio which integrates nicely with SharePoint. Meridio provides the life-cycle management to records that are developed in SharePoint using team sites. It is important to develop an architecture document for your organization that spells out how SharePoint is to be used. Otherwise it may be difficult for Information Management to manage retention and disposal of your electronic records within SharePoint.
This is not a complicated implementation if it is done right the first time. The combination of Meridio and SharePoint are DOD certified.

My company is using Microsoft Sharepoint 2003 for its internal web pages. I would like to hear from any of you who are using Sharepoint
2003 with the Office 2003 Suite. My IT people are indicating that Sharepoint can be used for electronic and hard copy document management (to manage my retention schedule, documents, etc.).
