First, my heart goes out to everyone there who is suffering through
this.

It's all so appalling.  If I were a records manager working in New
Orleans doing disaster planning, I think one of my scenarios would be
what if the levee breaks.  No, the records could not be moved but there
was time to switch communications to a facility outside the delta.

This troubles me.  Where's the leadership from HQ?

Just some thoughts from a guy with records in an Iron Mountain facility
somewhere west of the San Andreas fault.

I'm not sure that there would be any business continuity plan that could
accommodate the disaster that has befallen New Orleans.  How would one
be able to protect against such flooding? How would any organization
have the time and the ability to move records to another facility,
somewhere else?
