In the comments on flood insurance, there was mention of folks with
million-dollar
homes with the implication they only bought 250K flood insurance.   Federal
flood
insurance is capped at 250K; you can't buy a higher amount from that source.
One
problem is even if you had a home worth less than 250K, it might cost in
excess of
that to rebuild it, given that locally our prices for concrete, wood, etc.
increased
rather strongly after Hurricane Ivan last year destroyed 4,000 homes or more
in the
Pensacola area.
