Subject: GNO-ARMA Hurricane Katrina Assistance Needed - Photography collection

I would like to thank everyone for their help and offers of assistance. We
have an associate that needs some help - Donn Young. He is a great
photographer who is the official photographer for the Port of New Orleans as
well as numerous other events and is very good at capturing the essence of
New Orleans. You can see some of his work at www.portno.com and
www.donnyoung.com . Our current chapter project is to help the St. Marks
Community Center with their old records and he has volunteered his services
numerous times to help document our work and the work of the community
        center.

He had over 5 feet of water in his house and studio and has over 1 million
images on film that have been in water for days. The water has now receded
and he needs to know what to do next.

He has approximately 500 "film paper" boxes filled with slides, roll film,
negatives, etc. I believe that film needs to be kept wet until it is
cleaned. Please advise to this point and offer any suggestions on what type
of containers could be used and what type of facilities might be available
to place that many containers in water until they can be cleaned.

Also, does anyone have any containers that could be shipped here and/or
manpower/funds to assist? Any help would be appreciated.

You can contact me at 985-875-7397 or send an email to me at

        Thanks,
