My experience is that CDs and DVDs must be run through a shredder for
destruction.

Subject: Destruction of electronic records
ListServ Members,
I have researched the internet but have been unable to find what I
need. I am hoping that the experience of the ListServ members will
prevail.
I am looking for standards for the destruction of CD-ROM, diskettes,
cassettes, DVDs, mag tapes, etc. something other than ..." must be
rendered unreadable". I know that hard drives can be destroyed by
smashing/cutting/drilling holes, etc.
Hope you all have a great weekend and to the Canadians, Happy
Thanksgiving!!
