I hope the listserv keeps for all. If we don't have a job, we won't have
anything to discuss on the listserv except philosophical topics that we
can't every apply. Employment provides challenges and money in our pockets.
The listserv provides a forum for interchange of knowledge and experience
that maybe today we don't need but may tomorrow. The archives are an
excellent resource.

I am currently unemployed and looking. So seeing listings helps in the hunt
even though I also use other services and resources in my hunt. Knowing the
market is moving is so uplifting. Also, when I have been tasked with
developing or expanding departments or upgrading positions, it has always
helped to be able to research positions that have been posted for ideas and
wording that will WOW management and HR.

Personally, I don't think vendor's are evil nor consultants. Yeah spam or
constant phone calls may be much for some. If you see that someone may need
your assistance, send a private direct email. Posting jobs in our industry
does us all favors. It informs of industry trends, offers opportunities for
career growth, and triggers us to periodically reanalyze who we are, our
programs we are managing, and our focus for the future.

Dear Mom and Pa, please allow them to stay. Also here is an idea that may
open a can of worms. I am on another listserv that allows service providers
to post or advertise their availability and products the first of every
month. The Moms delete them or block after that. It is great, I double
check to see what is on the market and then use my wonderful delete button.
Just a thought. Maybe every quarter...

That is my three cents for today. Back in my cave I go. Cheers.

Thanks,
Carolyn Trim
