Our IT department is developing a Systems Development Framework to guide
the development of new computer applications and major revisions to
existing apps. As part of that framework I'll be able to include a QA
checklist to ensure records management is considered and dealt with
during the development process. Obviously my focus will be on
electronic records issues (retention/disposition, routine
purging/transfer, conversion, etc.). I'm also be adding an
approval/sign-off for the Records Officer (me) to verify that RM has
been considered and included in framework.
