I've been very interested in this thread of conversation. Perhaps ARMA can
and should draw more of a distinction between specific training and broader
RIM education. For those, who like Sue Myburgh have an interest, I would
recommend getting involved...especially with the Association's Education
Development Committee.

As for a Professional Journal, perhaps this should also be added to the mix.
We do need some recommendations on how best to support such an effort
financially. While not everything we do within ARMA should be financially
driven, the Association must make rational choices between spending
alternatives. Is there some activity or some endeavor that anyone might
suggest we drop? Alternately, is there some funding mechanism that might
exist that anyone on the listserv might suggest? Might, in fact, the ICRM
take an active role or a lead role in developing a research journal. ---
Bruce, what do you think?

My hope and expectation is that those involved in the Competencies project
will make use of any and all resources that are available for the benefit of
all of us. However, it is my hope that we develop our own Association's
view of competencies, and not merely adopt the work of others....as valuable
as that work may be.
