Angela,

As Mary Hilliard has already stated Kofax is exclusively a document
capture software. Kofax does not store nor provide access to scanned (or
imported) TIFF images. It is however a very powerful capture software
that can indeed support multiple indexing and image export into most
application/repository software products.

It is virtually impossible to provide any meaningful input into the
optimal Kofax configuration without knowing all of the details
surrounding the specific situation (documents being captured, the
scanner(s) being used, the software Kofax releases into, etc.). However,
I think that it is entirely possible to come up with a more elegant
solution which will allow for only a single scanned image that can be
shared/accessed by multiple users with multiple index values. Avoid
multiple copies of these tiff images if at all possible.

What I would strongly recommend to Pete is that they contact their
reseller who sold them the software and talk with them about their
needs; or, if they do not have reseller support, try to contact Kofax
directly. They have a very competent support staff. However, keep in
mind, once Kofax has released the images, they are pretty much out of
the workflow from that point on.

Also, Kofax has an excellent certification program. Once certified, you
will have a much better understanding of what Kofax can and cannot do
for your organization, and you may even qualify for a higher level of
technical support from Kofax.

Subject: Kofax Question

I am a new Kofax user. We have documents that contain information that
effect many different client accounts- so the document is currently
duplicated and placed in a paper client file. The way we have kofax set
up for imaging - we can only profile one of the account numbers listed-
we cannot duplicate the document as far as I can tell and create
multiple profiles for the multiple accounts listed. How can we duplicate
the tiff to be able to profile it multiple times within Kofax. There is
talk of finding the tiff in rightfax and making paper copies- I'd like
to avoid that.
