This message may be particularly timely in light of the
current, active discussion about RIM certification, competencies,
and education.
Registration is open for the October 24 start date for
the first two classes in the five-class, 15-credit online
RIM certificate offered by Chippewa Valley Technical
College, an accredited two-year institution.
Certificate details and registration information is available
at http://www.cvtc.edu/programs/rim.htm. Registration
is open through Oct 28.
Certificate topics include, but aren't limited to, an overview
of records management program components; the
relationship between records management and other
professional areas within an organization like IT; records
inventory, retention, vital records, and disaster recovery for
both paper and electronic records; imaging issues; and new
and emerging technology in the records management
profession.
Many students enroll in certificate classes to learn information
to help them better perform their daily records management
activities. Others use the material in the certificate courses as a study
base for the CRM exam.
