Yesterday Brian Moriki advertised an "Information Warrior Boot Camp" in Hawaii led by Randolph Kahn. Coincidentally, yesterday a friend gave me a copy of Kahn's book "Information Nation Warrior." I've just begun reading it, but it talks about the need for collaboration among IT, legal, business and RM, and how each can understand the other three's points of view.
It looks to me like this is the way to teach IT that "keeping everything" is not the right option. Unfortunately, when we're not "invited to the party" since the other three often believe that we're just supposed to deal with the old papers in storage (if they even know that RM exists), I'm not sure how that is going to happen. I wish I knew; if I did, I would run for an ARMA Board of Directors position.
