Can anyone state exactly what response was expected or not provided, after

The event and how it was handled was horrific. About all anyone (here, and
it seems elsewhere) can state is it could have been done better, and
armchair quarterbacks and 20/20 hindsight aside, anything anyone says would
be conjecture.

What I think WE CAN TALK about intelligently is how the INFORMATION, RECORDS
and other informational assets were handled, and how properly designed
disaster plans and vital records programs could have better prepared
businesses large AND small from being as severely impacted, when it came to
their business records.

You're supposed to design plans for a worst case scenario, therefore, if you
live in Hurricane Country and you KNOW they have a Category 5 and one has
struck your area before, you look at the scenario plans for the area that
could be impacted by such an event and you design your plan accordingly.
Same is true for those of us in earthquake country, in areas where there are
regular tornadoes, floods, firestorms and mudslides.

Maybe what we should be doing is focusing our energies on this instead of
discussing things we have differing opinions about that we don't have enough
facts about. Personally, I feel terrible for the people impacted by the
storms, whether they did what we think they should have or not, and I'm glad
I was able to help in some small ways and that I didn't lose anyone I know
personally in the events. As for the rest of it, it's all opinion and
conjecture.
