Business continuity plans are implemented to keep bad things from
happening.
Records management plans are implemented for the same reason, but in
other cases are implemented when management realizes records specialists
can do certain functions more with more efficiency.

right thing to do for all the right reasons...>>>
I'd agree with that, but that's life in the business world--both
programs cost $$ and are not seen as an immediate priority for the
businessman starting a new company. Then when they go to buy insurance
they get told there are certain measures they can take to lower their
premium...

Anybody care to respond on how Records Management and Business
Continuity are similar and how they are different from the collective
eyes of management teams.

My experience has been that both are a hard sell for management teams
regardless of the industry. I am also of the opinion that most records
management programs are started or revitalized to address a threat to
the business and very few are started as a proactive approach or because
it is the right thing to do for all the right reasons.
