Let me apologize in advance to the List if a response from me to Bruce, Chris and the List on the University RM issue eventually shows up in repeated, slightly modified versions.  So far, that message from me has not been posted in any form.  You may get several eventually.  If this happens, please read the version with the subject line "Response to Bruce, Chris re University RM, archivists, etc." and delete any others that come in with similar subject lines.  I know this may seem mystifying as to date, no such message from me has appeared :-p

This is a preemptive apology I have tried several times since last Friday to post such a message, modifying it slightly.  I contacted one of the List administrators over the weekend, who did advise that I try to repost it.  However, when I tried to do so, that version also did not appear in the List archives nor as a distributed posting.  Nor did the version I sent Sunday evening and modified on Monday morning get distributed to the List.  If any of the rest of you have had trouble posting recently, I think the List server has some problems starting late on Friday as a command request I sent Saturday did not generate a response until Monday.  It's impossible for me to tell on my end if my attempts to post a reply to Bruce and Chris got hung up on a server queue and eventually will show up or not.  Again, if you eventually get similar messages from me, I apologize in advance.  I am sure Peter or someone who knows more about this than I soon will post a note to us, hopefully without slapping my wrist, LOL.
