Good answer, Bill. I appreciate your taking the time to explain this to me.
Scanning the page twice when the placement of the note is important sounds
like a good solution. Similar to what people have done with sticky-notes when
making "xerox" copies over the years for duplicate or preservation copies or
whatever, I imagine. I think you're right, notes requiring reproduction of the
exact position should be in the minority.
