 Unless every employee has training
in scanning quality and ANSI standards aren't we setting ourselves up for
a disaster. I don't want to sound negative but having some of the
engineering staff I know it scares the hell out of me.

Quite possibly. The other option for us is to provide the document to our
scanning department who are already overloaded with the volume of work.
Our copier is a Canon product. The quality is like nothing else that I've
seen either through other copiers or our scanning station. The user has
the option of TIFF or PDF, the default is 300 dpi to keep file size down
and allow for excellent OCR capabilities. Most users scan with the
default settings and as the PM for the EDRMS, I'm quite pleased with the
quality.

Of course, most of the documents we receive these days are electronic
anyways, and most staff store these directly to our EDRMS.
