Hi Gerry,

Try this:

Send a letter of inquiry to Jack C. Thompson, Thompson Conservation
Laboratory, 1417 NW Everett, Portland, OR 97209.

This should get to you any information that you need to either arrange for
conservation or to deliver the bible to his lab.

Good Luck!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Fairfax, MA, CA

Subject: Book Restoration

Dear Colleagues,

My wife was given the family Bible as a Christmas present. This Bible is
in
very bad condition and needs some gentle loving care.

Knowing about restoration is not in my part of expertise, and would like
some recommendation if possible.

I live in the Pacific Northwest and am looking for specialists you might
know in the Portland, Oregon area, and will travel to Seattle, Washington if

needed.

The Bible was published in 1891, and is a family heirloom. Any assistance
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you all in advance, and have a safe, happy, and prosperous New
Year.

Regards,
Gerry Clifford
