Happy New Year to all. I trust you have made meaningful resolutions for the  
advancement of RIM and your involvement. I'm sure one includes a good working  
relationship with IT. This has been a matter of concern since John Porter  
penned the Britt 1967 winning article, "The 
Effects of EDP on Records Management." It remains an essential  
interdisciplinary approach to the management of information. To appreciate the  nature of 
the challenge, I suggest you look at the Jan. 2, 2006 issue of  Information 
Week. It contains articles and statistics on the "InformationWeek  Research 
Outlook/Priorities IQ 2006 Study of 300 business technology  specialists.Two of the 
areas - Which business priorities will your IT  organization implement or 
support in 2006? and - "What kind of expertise is your  company looking for in 
new IT hires? - unfortunately emphasize a void in RIM  understanding.
 
Makes life interesting.
