Also, assuming by "cave walls" you refer to the paintings on the walls
of
various European caves, those are considerably more than a few thousand
years old (recent radiocarbon dating yields 13,000 to 15,000 years for
Altamira, Spain).

I don't recommend them, I recommend film. However, I just couldn't
resist
the chance to point out that film LE is as much an estimate as CD LE.
And,
as I have said before, the only completely proven media for record
storage
is cave walls, and they only go back a few thousand years.
