I don't see a difference between recycled and "virgin" cardboard record
boxes.

The difference is in the content of the material. Recycled boxes come
from recycled material and probably from used boxes. The content from the
boxes is mixed with virgin content in a vat of "soup" and then through the
process converted to cardboard. You sometimes see this in paper that goes
through your copier...30% post consumer waste. With paper we have noticed
no difference between recycled and virgin other than more paper dust.

On some occasions you may find that recycled boxes may not be as strong,
but you are doing the "conservation thing" by saving trees and keeping
material from the landfill.
