We are instituting records center management system (Livelink Physical
Object Manager) and as a result we get to have new labels for our boxes.
The only info I am planning to have on the new label is:
1. Unique Box ID
2. Shelf Location
3. Barcode
A box inventory with owner, destruction date, etc is going _inside_ the
box
I thought about putting the destruction date on the label as well, but
decided against it, figuring that the date may change and changing the
label may be too problematic (Yes, gulp, we would look to the system
first for destruction date and secondarily the inventory inside the box)
Our philosophy is to get away from over-labeling the outside of the box.
That is, I am not comfortable with a box boldly labeled "Confidential -
Officer Incentive Comp" circulating through the enterprise. No need to
tempt...
Thoughts?
Thanks again!
