We put ours in the records under the Legal department. When I first
started here, I wrote a contracts management procedure and that is what
got the ball rolling. Then I was in the facilities department and then
moved to legal.

Subject: [RM] Contracts Management
I am looking for some simple logical information regarding Contracts
Management.
Our company has decided (after a brutal audit) to attack it's contract
management problem.
These are mainly any contracts other than those issued by Procurement or
through an RFP.
As I like to call them, the contracts that we are in business because
of, not the contracts we need to run the business.
I am looking for input as to where or what department should this
position or area fall under.
We have those that feel it should either be in Ops, Finance or Power
Services (we're in the Electric Business). Others believe it should
fall in Business Support Service under Procurement, even with Records.
Any thoughts????
Respectfully submitted,
