The Greater New Orleans Chapter of ARMA is having Donn Young, a New
Orleans Photojournalist speak at our Spring Seminar. His presentation
is called "40 Days and 40 Nights".
Donn is the official photographer for the Port of New Orleans. He lost
his home, his studio and more than a million photographs during
Hurricane Katrina. In the aftermath of the disaster, Donn returned to
New Orleans to document the devastation, and photograph the survivors
and volunteers who are working to rebuild the city.
GNO-ARMA helped Donn rescue some of the images from his studio. These
images are now in deep freeze at the Louisiana State University. While
LSU seeks grants to preserve Donn's 35 years of "historically
significant" images, Donn continues his work by documenting the worst
disaster in US history.
