Sandra:

1) this is typically caused by dirt and dust in the optical sensor bar.  If
so, the tech can either run cleaning paper thru or manually clean the
sensor.

2) if this has been eliminated, than the sensor bar may be defective.

Subject: [RM] Scanner Question

We have a Fujitsu 4097D scanner with a SCSI VRS hardware and we have been
having problems with a black line down the center of the documents.
We have had a technician go completely through this and he is finding
absolutely no reason for the line.  He has replaced rollers, etc and still
cannot find the problem.  We have also changed the PC and the cabling.  We
probably could have purchased a new one with the costs we have run up on
it!!
 
Would anyone on this list have any idea on what we could check next?  We
have also tried the Fuji site with no good answers.
 
Any suggestions you could give would be appreciated.
