Hi Sue,
In no particular order, here are some of the resources that I have found
useful over the years:
"Managing Electronic Records", William Saffady
"Records and Information Management: Fundamentals of Professional Practice",
William Saffady
"Electronic Records Retention", David Stephens and Roderick Wallace
"Authenic Electronic Records", Charles Dollar
ISO 15489
Model Requirements for Managing Electronic Records (MoReq)
Victorian Electronic Records Strategy (VERS)
Design and Implementation of Recordkeeping Systems (DIRKS)
CAN/CGSB-72.34, "Electronic Records as Documentary Evidence"
ARMA's Information Management Journal
AIIM EDOC Magazine (online archives at http://www.edocmagazine.com)
This listserv
The ERECS-L listserv
doingITbetter, http://doingitbetter.blogspot.com
CMSWatch's Records Management Channel, http://www.cmswatch.com/RM
And of course the local chapter of ARMA - wherever you're located, there is
most likely an ARMA chapter near you that holds regular meetings on topics
of interest.
Cheers,
Jesse Wilkins

Subject: [RM] New to records management
I am new to records management and have found this listserv of great help
and it holds a great deal of information. I would greatly appreciate
guidance of what books, publications, web sites or other educational
materials you would recommend to someone who is just beginning in the
field but has been given the job responsibility to provide direction to a
large company for record retention. The record management includes all
media for a health care company with over 6000 employees. Any words of
wisdom from people who are living these responsibilities of best practices
would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
