The download you want to get is Office 2007 Beta 2 which will be made public
sometime this week.

The records management capabilities will be made available in the SharePoint
Official File Site where the retention and disposition rules, security, and
policies can be configured for the RM repository.

I will be writing extensively about the next version of the Microsoft Office
System (this includes Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Office
applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other new
capabilities) 2007 in the next several weeks.

I also will be discussing how this next generation of products can be used
as a Microsoft based enterprise content management (ECM) platform.

My posts will appear at http://BetterECM.wordpress.com

Office 2007

I am sitting in the MER Conference Hall and just attended the Microsoft
introduction. It looks promising. Jason Cahill from Microsoft Corp.
suggested anyone who would like to see the functionality directly, they can
download the Outlook 2007 Beta 2 (I think) which will be released this week
or next week. I can't recall.

I have some photos of screen shots I'll download from my camera tonight if
anyone is interested, e-mail me directly and I'll let you know how you can
view these. The photos are a little angled and might blur some. They're
not PowerPoint slides.

Microsoft's RM blog mentions that they'll be formally introducing RM
functionality in Office/Sharepoint at MER today. I'm sure many of us who
are not able to attend MER would love to hear about this from those lucky
enough to see the unveiling!
