This comes up on the listserv every couple of years, could be worth a
prowl through the listserv archives looking for anything to do with size
of department, the level it reports to, and who it reports to.

oh, and we have 4,500 staff across vast chunks of eastern Australia,
highly decentralised, there are 6 RM staff, three doing process work
(mail, offsite storage) and three including me doing RM policy, planning
and Trim system admin. We have part time Document Coordinators in each of
our ten Divisions in a somewhat vain attempt to spread the load.

As Trim gets into more business units (currently about 10% of desktops,
growing steadily) we are finding the admin, training, classification and
business analysis increasing. We are already stretched, and I imagine that
I'll be asking my boss for another staffer to do Trim admin and business
analysis very soon, or more likely we'll fill the gap with an external
resource.

Cheers

Glenn

These views are mine alone. They may or may not be those of any
previous or present employers or clients. I don't know. If I'd asked
and they'd agreed, I would have signed it "Harry Peck and Co and
Glenn". Or whatever. But I haven't, so I didn't.
