Interested to hear views on the requirement to manage the integrity of a 
transaction/decision making process in sync with the laws of the time.  
There may be an assumption in the discussion that the legilsative change 
is for a longer retention period - that may not be the case.  In the 
international sphere, it does not seem so simple as to say "conform to the 
laws of today".  Action may be judged against the expectations of 
yesterday, too. Judgment and analysis of the specific circumstances is 
required, IMHO.
