Probably the strangest thing I found while working as an archives
assistant about 10 years ago in the Arizona State Archives was a
tri-fold criminal case - I believe the crime was cattle rustling or
something similar to that - maybe early 1900s?  When I unfolded the
document, out came a neatly cut piece of cow hide, complete with
cattle
brand!  I was glad we wore gloves to process collections!!
