          Hi William G. Oates !

Please look into improving the City Council information
and communications on the web at
          http://cityofboston.gov/citycouncil

          a. Council stenographic machine output needs to be made
             available.

          b. Transcription of Council stenographic machine output
             needs to be made available

          c. Closed captioning for Council webcasts needs to be
made available for people with hearing loss.

          d. The current Council minutes on the web are too
edited, too abbreviated, too ambiguous for most
people to understand more clearly what really
happened in the public meetings of the City Council,
what really were the transactions, proceedings of
             the City Council.

          e. Plain ASCII text is needed for Council email
communications that could be made more compatible
for computer users of Linux, more compatible for Mac
             computer users.

          f. Plain ASCII text is needed for Council Committees'
email communications that could be made more
compatible for Linux users, more compatible for Mac
             users.

          g. A better method of routine updating for Council
information and Council communications is needed.

The excellent efforts of MIS Department's
web team's Raj Pareek appear to be foiled at every
          bureaucratic turn !
