This may be somewhat simplistic, but... Maybe just doing a "save as" to
your hard drive directory.  Then copying the contents to a CD.  If/when
technology changes, you can migrate to that technology if you wish.

Like I said... Simplistic, but why over think it.  Yes, these are very
valuable emails to you, but they will not be required in court.  They
are only of value to you and your family and friends.
