I work in the private sector and am a part of the legal team reporting now 
to our new litigation & compliance counsel. I work very closely with my 
Technology (IT) colleagues. This particular reporting structure works very 
well for us - at least at this stage of the game. At one time, I was asked 
to join our data security team, but felt it would be better to remain in 
legal. It is possible that I will move under Technology at some point, but 
for now reporting to legal is fine.
