Or something as simple as reserved backup space on another server with
the operating system already installed.  Load the backup tapes and go.
This would limit the down time to one day at the most.  You might slow
down response time for a few days until the problem is resolved, but at
least the data would be accessible.

So, what happens here?  If they maintained the ability to process and
record
deeds and transactions in physical form, or at minimum, had microfilm
backup, they'd still be in business.  How many people are going to have
major tax implications because of their inability to complete
transactions
by year end because of this?

I'm all for progress, but build an escape hatch along the way.
