I like both Patrick's and Bill's responses. No CEO likes to know that
their company is at risk....and with the current state of your company,
they are. I would suggest that you search the archives for some of
Peter's RAIN stories on companies that were in similar circumstances to
your company and the trouble they got in because they did not manage their
information properly. Since the advent of SOX, the potential for senior
management to take a "hit" is growing.

Patrick has suggested that you have something in your back pocket to solve
this problem. Great advise. There is no sense bringing a problem forward
to management if you do not have the answer. You do need a formal records
program in place. You have to determine what information and records
your company has so you can manage it. You have to sell this idea to
senior management. The direction of your records program is in your hands
and YOU can do it. Join the local ARMA chapter. READ, READ and then READ
again. There are many good books out there. Educate yourself.....there
are many courses that will improve your knowledge base. Use the list as a
sounding base.....there are many knowledgeable people here and they will
gladly help you,

Good luck with your project.
