With proper care and storage diazo film should last 100 years or more
(my bet would be more).

Our diazo film only goes back 30 years or so and it looks as good as the
day we got it. Not that we have any film anymore since we have been
converting everything to digital in the past few years and finally
finished that effort last summer.

Subject: COM Fiche Longevity

Good Monday Morning All,

All of you microfilm experts, please help....

I have several years (1989 - 1996) of COM fiche that I am looking to
convert to digital (already out for quotes). Seems to me sometime long
ago, I heard COM fiche (diazo) only had a life of approximately 7 - 10
years although I have been unable to verify this. We will be adding
funding for the next several budget years to convert these records as
they have a retention of over 50 years. In the meantime, would it help
to make a copy of the fiche to prolong the life another 7 -10 years?
