I have worked with a number of organizations who insisted on calling it
the "dead files."  Always reminded me of the ending to the first Indiana
Jones movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark."  Most of us know, of course, that
if the file is dead we don't keep it.  We "dispose" of it.  (Now I seem
to be in the realm of the Sopranos!)
