I am looking for stats around the length of time companies/agencies are
retaining emails within the employee's inbox and/or within email
repositories. Is anyone aware of a resource where this information has
been previously captured?
Is anyone currently involved in an email mgmt/archiving project and are
willing to discuss via a benchmarking conf call?

Questions are as follows:
- Does your company/agency have rules that mandate the length of time
email can reside in the employee's inbox before being either
auto-deleted or sent to an email repository?
- If yes, what is the time period for which email resides in the inbox?
How long does email reside in the email repository? Do you allow users
the access to delete records once they are in the repository?
- Does anyone have a current Email Policy they are willing to share?
- Any comments on the following email retention assumptions?
- Most emails have short-term business value
- Inboxes or personal archives should not be used as a long-term
retention strategy
   - Essential email records should be easily accessible to the
business, stored with other essential records, and managed per their
retention requirements.

Your feedback is appreciated!

Thanks for your time,

Tammy Russo-Leschber
