This is a bargaining unit position restricted to current civil service employees represented by Nova Scotia Government Employees Union. Duties:

Reporting to the Senior Records Analyst, the Corporate Records Analyst will be responsible for the development, implementation and advancement of records management for both departmental and government wide programs.  They will provide advisory and consulting services tailored to meet departmental needs as determined by an assessment of the nature, status, and extent of the department's records management program.  The Corporate Records Analyst will be required to develop records management policies, procedures, guidelines, classification and retention schedules, training plans, presentations, and other documentation to support effective management of government records in all media and forms.  They provide one on one and group training to department employees; and expert advise and assistance in implementing electronic records management and record keeping solutions.

Qualifications: 

A Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as information management or records management, plus one year related work experience; preference will be given to those with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as information management or records management, plus two years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  A demonstrated knowledge of records management, information technology and database administration is required.  Preference will also be given to those applicants with experience writing records management related policies, procedures, and guidelines; developing classification and retention schedules, training plans, presentations and other documentation; using a standardized records classification system; and  demonstrated abilities in the implementation and use of electronic records management systems and software.  Web content management skills would be considered an asset.  Applicants should be familiar with the Government Records Act, Public Archives Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.  Strong written and oral presentation skills, time and project management, analytical and client service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are also essential.

Classification Range: PR 6 - 10
     
Salary Range: $37,768 to $54,161
