Not just saying this because of Senator Obama's affiliation, but this
wouldn't be the first time that AP or another "source" got it wrong...
Here's the quote as it appeared:
"I don't have — I don't maintain — a file of eight years of work in the
state Senate because I didn't have the resources available to maintain those
kinds of records,"
Now, in "Newspaper-ese", "---" can either mean it was a pause or a break in
the conversation, or similar to "...", it can mean something was omitted as
I recall from my years in journalism.
Wonder which it was in this case???
