Department Summary
The Plantronics Legal Department provides all areas of legal services to
Plantronics, Altec Lansing, Clarity and Volume Logic organizations on a
worldwide basis.
Responsibilities:
Administration of company compliance programs and initiatives,
including:
* Assist Legal Department attorneys, Internal Audit Department
and other Company personnel with issues involving compliance with
applicable laws and company policies/processes
* Draft, update and properly publish policies and procedures
concerning compliance issues
* Administer Records Retention Program, including partnering
with employees to update records retention schedules, maintaining
records management system, and working with external consultants and
vendors
* Train employees on a worldwide basis on corporate governance
and compliance issues
* Assist with investigations and risk assessments of violations
of compliance policies and procedures
* Perform certain paralegal functions
Project management of issues that arise that require compliance
intervention or paralegal assistance
* Coordinate with external consultants and vendors regarding
compliance matters
* Assist with privacy initiatives concerning employees and
consumers
Support SEC compliance, including assistance with Sarbanes-Oxley and
NYSE certification process and corporate-governance matters
* Other compliance-related projects, as needed
The Ideal candidate:
* Paralegal or compliance role with 3 years experience in a
corporate law firm and/or in-house legal department
* Experience in records management a plus
* Experience in compliance-related areas a plus
* Experience in privacy-related areas a plus
* B.A. required
* Excellent writing skills
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Process and project oriented
* Good interpersonal skills
* Good analytical skills
* Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Polished personal presentation
* Desire to build a long-term career with an in-house legal
department
Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor Degree
* Experience supporting SEC Compliance
* 3+ years experience in a compliance role or paralegal role
within a corporate law firm or in house legal department.
