Job announcement from the Council of State Archivists [Please excuse cross
postings] http://www.statearchivists.org/prepare/iper/applicants.htm

Curriculum Coordinator, Intergovernmental Preparedness for Essential Records

(IPER) Project

Morrow, Georgia (suburban Atlanta)

The Council of State Archivists (CoSA) is seeking a Curriculum Coordinator
for its Intergovernmental Preparedness for Essential Records (IPER) Project.

CoSA has received $2.6 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency

(FEMA) to support this large-scale, 3-year project to develop and deliver
training on records-related emergency preparedness to state and local
government agencies.

The IPER training program will be based on existing National Archives
courses for federal employees and will focus on two topics: (1) Vital

(Essential) Records, and (2) Records Emergency Planning and Response. The
IPER courses will be delivered by training teams based in each state and
territory and made available in two formats: as Web-based seminars

(webinars) and as self-directed training modules via CD or the Web. A
self-directed Introduction to Records Management will also be made available
via CD and the Web.

The Curriculum Coordinator will be the staff member primarily responsible
for the content and quality of the courses. While the bulk of curriculum
design and development will be accomplished by a Curriculum Contractor, the
Curriculum Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for both the
Curriculum Contractor and the project Evaluator. In this capacity, s/he will
coordinate the contractors' work with the project staff and Advisory Board
in developing and delivering the IPER curriculum and training materials. The
position will require a significant amount of travel.

The Curriculum Coordinator will report to the IPER Project Manager and
receive support from the IPER Administrative Assistant. The IPER project
staff will be stationed at The Georgia Archives in Morrow, Georgia, a suburb
of Atlanta.

Compensation. The Curriculum Coordinator will be paid $250/day

($62,500/year) during the first year of the project with 5% cost of living
increases in years 2 and 3. As contractual employees, project staff will not
receive fringe benefits (e.g., health or life insurance, retirement plans)
and must cover their own Social Security payments. No relocation expenses
will be paid.

A more detailed description of responsibilities and qualifications is
available on the CoSA website at
http://www.statearchivists.org/prepare/iper/applicants.htm.
