I have been the Librarian and Record Manager for my company for 20
years. Last year I rewrote our record management policy, and have taken
on the title as Archivist. As the corporate librarian and record keeper,
I'm responsible for retention compliance, as well as monitoring
copyright compliance and changes in the law. 

In Washington DC, I know of several law firms that have adopted the
practice of combining the library department with central records and
giving the library director oversight for both functions. In my specific
example, our central records serves as a major research tool in
conjunction with typical library resources.
